Creada mediante Decreto 138. El 15 de agosto de 1955, de acuerdo a las disposiciones episcopales se inaugur\u00f3 la parroquia bajo la gu\u00eda espiritual del Padre Manuel Duarte M\u00e1rquez, quien con no pocos sacrificios que tocaron hasta su patrimonio familiar, compr\u00f3 un lote donde empez\u00f3 la edificaci\u00f3n del templo. A su muerte repentina ocurrida cuando el Se\u00f1or Obispo administraba el Sacramento de la Confirmaci\u00f3n, lo sucedi\u00f3 el din\u00e1mico y emprendedor Padre Ramiro Parra Mantilla quien se empe\u00f1\u00f3 en la construcci\u00f3n de la casa cural y un centro de asistencia social para los pobres.<\/p>\n
